The Guild of Surveying Engineers (Maanmittarikilta, MK), established in 1901, is the oldest student guild in Finland which still receives new students every year. Our members, ca. 400 in total, study at Aalto University School of Engineering and are brought together with common interest towards real estate economics, spatial planning and transportation, and the built environment in general. Surveying in the traditional sense is no longer a core subject at the university, but the Guild has adapted and functions actively as ever.

The most important tasks of the Guild are advocacy and supervision of our members’ rights and educating new students about university life beyond official studies. The Guild’s annual ball is held every year in March, and smaller parties and other events are organized regularly throughout the year. We also arrange company visits where you can learn about potential employers and establish important connections for the future. Not forgetting sports, there are plenty of tournaments and other active events for our members.

We consider it very important that every new student has the chance to learn about Finnish student life. So follow us online or come visit the guild room at Otakaari 3, where you can meet other members and get more information about our awesome association!
